Tools and Techniques

In 1993 I went through a tough time whilst at university and began using self help books to clear limiting beliefs that were holding me back. I started taking yoga classes and listening to a life coach on tape, taking myself through the processes. Thus began my journey into parts of myself I had kept locked away and hidden from myself and the world. I began to learn that we are so much more than our mind and body.

In 2002 I began working in the holisitc health and wellbeing field as my yoga teacher became ill and asked me to take over teaching her lessons. I have since acquired much experience and a varied skill set through training, daily practise and assisting many talented spriritual leaders and those in the personal development field with their work.

Some of the tools and techniques I practise were once unknown in the West and are now mainsteam, such as Yoga and Meditation.  Others you may have heard of or experienced yourselves like Reiki or NLP.  Some are newer, but just as effective, examples of which are Reflective Repatterning and Energetic NLP.

Here I will do my best to explain them in a quick and simple way:

Life Coaching focuses on where a client is now and where they ultimately want to be. This is done by working with a client to find their self-encouragement and self-motivation. As a coach I help clients define their needs, wants, ambitions and desires; empowering them to identify the strategies and tactics that will create the action to take them there and measure their progress against defined markers.

Reiki (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘universal life energy’, and is also a word used to describe a system of natural healing.

Yoga is Sanskrit for ‘union’. The practice of yoga helps to co-ordinate the breath, mind and body to encourage balance, both internally and externally and promote feelings of relaxation and ease.  In the West, the most widely taught form of yoga is Hatha Yoga. Yoga classes offer students postures and movements to stretch, strengthen and flex the body, to develop breath awareness, to relax and meditate.

Meditation is an approach to training the mind, similar to the way that fitness is an approach to training the body. Many meditation techniques exist and begin with concentration either on the breath, an external object such as a candle flame or a mantra.  Rather than pursuing random thoughts, you simply let them go. The intention is not to get involved with the thoughts or to judge them, but simply to be aware of each mental note as it arises.  Like the ebb and flow of the waves you simply observe them without attachment.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the study of excellent communication–both with yourself, and with others. It was developed by modeling excellent communicators and therapists who got results with their clients. NLP is a set of tools and techniques, but it is so much more than that. It is an attitude and a methodology of knowing how to achieve your goals and get results.

Energetic NLP is a system of simple tools and techniques that allow you to clear and develop your energy field to promote personal development on all levels.  In addition you can use the tools to do energetic healings for others.

Thought Field Therapy (TFT or tapping) is a brief, effective psychotherapy for the rapid and natural healing of negative emotions and psychological problems. Thought Field Therapy uses the meridian system to balance the bodies energy system promoting natural healing and improved mental health through tapping specific points around the body.  Emotional Freedom Tecnique (EFT) was born out of this.

Reflective Repatterning (RR) is a psychological framework that uncovers very deeply held unconscious conflicting values, emotional and belief patterns. The RR framework then clears the charge that creates friction between these patterns. Leaving the receiver feeling calm, clear and stronger.

Hypnotherapy is a valuable therapy with which to release past trauma and decondition established habits. A hypnotic state occurs normally in everyone when certain physiological and psychological conditions are met and with the assistance of a skilled hypnotherapist it’s possible to use this state to make deep and lasting changes to thoughts, feelings and behaviour.

Access Conciousness provides step-by-step processes to facilitate you in being more conscious in every day life and eliminate all the barriers you have put up to receiving.

Access Bars is an energetic body process involving gentle touching of 32 points on your head.  These points store the electromagnetic component of all the thoughts, stress and locked up energy in you mind and body.  They relate to all areas of your life such as creativity, awareness, body, sexuality, joy, sadness, money, control, and many more.  When you receive a Bars session, it allows the charge on these areas to dissipate, together with the stress and worry, giving you the choice to be more generative and to have something different show up in your life. With ease!

Magnet Therapy is inspired by both the Emotion Code and The Body Code.  A magnetic field is the opposite of an electrical field yet each one is present with the other. An electrical field draws energy inwards and a magnet can draw energy outwards. Hence all we have to do is tune into an emotional issue, and swipe the magnet a number of times on certain powerful energetic pathways, and it reduces the emotional excess of negative energy that is enhancing our emotional problems.

Kinesiology is a way of muscle testing that works as a type of body language which can communicate problems and then solutions to the client and practitioner.
